Matsukaze was relocated to Jinya by Mitsui Group in the early 20th century. The effort invested by the Kuroda-han can be seen in the highly-skilled techniques and the luxurious layout they have employed for this lavishly-constructed house.
Despite the fact that more than a hundred years has passed since it was built, Matsukaze still holds a profound and majestic presence thanks to the floorboards, columns and glass windows that have been preserved to this day. An outdoor cypress bathtub has been recently installed, providing constant and 100% pure hot-spring water that contains one of the highest concentrations of calcium in the world. The room was previously used as a banquet hall, but it has been renovated in order to accomodate staying guests.
